Pirastro Obligato violin strings have a core made from a modern synthetic multifilament fibre. These strings sound warm and full, yet have a brilliant, rich overtone spectrum and focused tone, and more clarity and projection than do most strings designed to "warm up" a bright instrument.

E string: Steel or Goldsteel

A string: Aluminum or Chrome Steel over synthetic

D string: Aluminum or Silver over synthetic

G string: Silver over synthetic

In 4/4, 3/4-1/2, and 1/4-1/8 sizes. The 3/4-1/2 and 1/4-1/8 sizes D and G strings are silver over synthetic. 4/4 size in medium.
